Basilique Saint-Sernin; Toulouse, France
This charming street in Toulouse sits in the shadow of the iconic Basilique Saint-Sernin. The abbey has some serious history—construction of the basilica actually started way back in the late 4th century, thanks to Bishop St. Sylvius. Its significance really took off after Emperor Charlemagne donated a collection of relics, turning it into a major pilgrimage site. It even became a key stop for those heading to Santiago de Compostela. The size of the basilica and its unique ambulatory were likely designed to handle the growing number of pilgrims who passed through. This is inspired by a quick shot I took whilst walking toward the structure.
